WHAT’S THE MINDFUL SPACE ALL ABOUT?

Within the practice of mindfulness, the word “space” takes on a few meanings.

We can create a physical space in which to be still, to meditate, to be present. It can also be a result of practicing over time: a “space” that opens up and expands through present-moment awareness. It’s the space that, with practice, appears and allows you to thoughtfully respond rather than automatically react. We can create space in our lives for the things that matter.

This is a space for you and your child (or student) to learn simple mindfulness practices that will create more space in your own lives for what matters to you.

Hi, I’m Sarah.

Working with kids with anxiety, ADHD, and autism, I wanted to find a way to help them become more self-aware and less stressed. In the process of helping them, I started to become more self-aware and less stressed.

So I created The Mindful Space so we can all become more self-aware and less stressed!

Mindfulness helped me shift my perspective which gave me the confidence to follow my passion.

So now my passion has evolved into my mission. I’ve combined my professional and spiritual practices to work with children of all ability levels, parents, teachers, or anyone looking to create a more mindful life. Let’s work together to create a mindful space in your life!

Sarah Dennehy, M.Ed, is a trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness teacher and licensed behavioral specialist located in Eastern Pennsylvania. She’s the author of Mindful with Me: Connecting to Your Child through Daily Mindfulness (available here).

Sarah began her mindfulness practice while working as a behavioral specialist one-on-one with parents and in schools. Seeking new effective ways to help young clients deal with stress and anxiety, Sarah earned teaching certifications for children’s yoga and mindfulness and created Mindful Kids Yoga. As Sarah’s mindfulness practice grew, Mindful Kids Yoga expanded into The Mindful Space, offering mindfulness education to families, teachers, and therapists.

Sarah is currently Director of Programs for Shanthi Project, a non-profit that provides trauma-informed mindfulness and yoga to area youth, non-profits, and organizations in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley.
